Bernstein: Symphonic Dances from West Side Story
Maison de la Radio, Paris

The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, conducted by Mikko Franck, perform Fauré's Pelléas et Mélisande suite, Copland's Quiet City, Bernstein's symphonic dances from West Side Story, and the Double Concerto for violin and cello by Philip Glass with Gidon Kremer and Giedre Dirvanauskaitė.

Pelléas et Mélisande, then West Side Story (Romeo and Juliet alias Tony et Maria, of course !). A quiet town depicted by Copland, then one in uproar byBernstein. Without forgetting of course the French première of Philip Glass's Double Concerto: everything in double, everything is reflected in this programme.
