Auditorium de Radio France

Cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and pianist Alexandre Tharaud perform Shostakovich, Berg, and Brahms. Concert recorded on 1 February 2018 at the Radio France Auditorium (Paris).

Who hasn't heard the famous Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms? Many of them are based upon popular themes, drawn by Brahms from the violinist Eduard Reményi, whom the composer met when he was only 15 years old.

Another successful work by Brahms, his Sonata no.1 in e minor for cello and piano, a work still capable to this day of seducing audiences and performers alike. The work even eclipsed the following Sonata no.2 in F major for cello...

Shostakovich: Sonata in d minor op.40 performed by Jean-Guihen Queyras and Alexandre Tharaud

Berg: Four Pieces for clarinet and piano performed by Jean-Guihen Queyras and Alexandre Tharaud

Brahms: Sonata for cello and piano n°1 in e minor performed by Jean-Guihen Queyras and Alexandre Tharaud

Brahms: Hungarian Dance no.11 performed by Jean-Guihen-Queyras and Alexandre Tharaud

Brahms: Hungarian Dance no.5 performed by Jean-Guihen-Queyras and Alexandre Tharaud
